The U.S. Department of the Treasury Has Discontinued Penny Production

What is happening:

  • The U.S. Department of the Treasury officially marked the end of penny production in May 2025.

What this means for Bank of Central Florida:

  • Effective immediately, our Federal Reserve Bank is no longer fulfilling orders for pennies.
  • As a result, we can no longer obtain pennies.

What this means for our clients:

  • We will continue to provide pennies while our supply lasts. Quantities may be limited.
  • Pennies will remain legal tender and will be accepted for deposits for the foreseeable future.
